Odoo vs NetSuite vs MYOB Acumatica: A Detailed Comparison of ERP Pricing, Customisation and Total Cost of Ownership

Compare Odoo, NetSuite and MYOB Acumatica on ERP pricing, customisation and total cost of ownership to find the best fit for your business.

Odoo vs NetSuite vs MYOB Acumatica: A Detailed Comparison of ERP Pricing, Customisation and Total Cost of Ownership

It is Monday, 7 am. Your team picks an order for stock that sold out on Friday. The sale sits in one tool. The stock count sits in a spreadsheet. Your accounts team finds the gap at month-end, after the customer has already called.

This is how margin leaks out of a wholesale business. It is rarely one big loss. It is many small gaps between systems.

If you are weighing up a new ERP, price is the first thing you check. But the licence fee is only one line on the bill. This guide compares Odoo ERP, Oracle NetSuite and MYOB Acumatica on the three things that decide your real cost: pricing, customisation and total cost of ownership (TCO).

We use current Australian figures and plain numbers. The blog comes from a certified Odoo Australia partner that has watched these trade-offs play out on real projects. Here is what the numbers say.

Odoo ERP Pricing vs NetSuite and MYOB Acumatica

Odoo is the only one of the three with a public Australian price list. NetSuite and MYOB Acumatica are sold by quote.

What you pay for Odoo NetSuite MYOB Acumatica
Pricing model Per user, all apps in one fee Platform + users + modules Per named user, by edition and user type
Public AU price list Yes No, quote only No, quote through partners
Full user (A$/month, ex GST) A$80 Custom (billed yearly) Quote based About A$200 — A$ 271
Light user (A$/month) A$12.90 Quote based About A$72 — A$129
Modules All apps included Many priced separately Core included, some optional
Implementation Separate Separate one-time fee Separate, from A$40,000+ for finance and distribution[cite: 10]

Industry insight:
Odoo changed its prices on 24 September 2026, its first change since 2022. The Standard plan did not move. The Custom plan rose to A$80 per user per month. For existing customers, renewal increases are capped at 7% a year.

Odoo ERP pricing is simple. You pick Standard or Custom, then multiply by your users. New subscriptions get 20% off for the first 12 months on the users you first order. That is why you may see AUD34.40 and AUD64.00 on the price page.

NetSuite works differently. Oracle sells an annual subscription made up of a core platform, user licences and optional modules. It does not publish an Australian rate card. So any Odoo vs NetSuite pricing check needs a written NetSuite quote.

MYOB Acumatica charges per named user in Australia. The price depends on the edition, the user type and extra modules such as payroll.

Envertis Tip:
Do not compare a first-year discount with another vendor's full price. Ask every vendor for years one to five, in AUD, ex GST.

ERP Customisation: How Much Can You Change, and Who Pays?

Every wholesaler has a few rules that make it money. Special price lists. Odd pack sizes, a key customer who needs a custom invoice. Your ERP must handle these without a rebuild.

Odoo customisation starts with Odoo Studio, a no-code tool on the Custom plan. You can add fields, change screens and build reports yourself. For bigger changes, developers write custom modules. These run on Odoo.sh or your own server, not on the Standard plan. The Custom plan also opens the external API, so your website, 3PL or EDI tools can talk to Odoo.

NetSuite is flexible. It uses scripting, workflows and add-on SuiteApps. The catch is that some features you see in a demo may need an extra licence. Ask the vendor to mark each feature as included, optional or third-party.

MYOB Acumatica partners tend to push a fit-to-standard approach. That means you change your process to match the software where you can. This keeps costs down. But it can feel tight if your workflows are unusual.

Envertis, an official Odoo Partner with more than 80 Odoo implementations behind us, we see one pattern again and again. The projects that stay on budget customise less, not more.

Envertis Tip:
Start with standard Odoo. Only customise where it protects margin or saves real hours each week. If a change does neither, leave it out of phase one.

Total Cost of Ownership: The Five-Year Point of View

TCO is everything you spend to run the system for five years. Licences are often the smaller part. Here is a price-only example for 20 full users over five years, at list prices, ex GST:

Platform Monthly rate per user 5-year licence cost
Odoo Standard A$43 A$51,600
Odoo Custom A$80 A$96,000
MYOB Acumatica (full users) A$200 — A$271 A$240,000 — A$325,200
NetSuite Quote based Ask for a 5-year quote[cite: 11]

This is a simple illustration. Odoo's first-year discount would lower its total. Odoo vs MYOB Acumatica totals would fall if some staff can use cheaper light user licences. Prices change, so confirm every figure in writing.

The Odoo ERP software comparison looks strong on licences. But a smart buyer should check the full list. These are the costs that most often surprise wholesalers:

1. Implementation: setup, configuration and testing. Always a separate fee on all three platforms.

2. Data migration: cleaning and moving customers, products and open orders.

3. Integrations: links to your website, 3PL, EDI or payroll.

4. Hosting: Odoo.sh is billed on top of the Odoo Custom licence.

5. Extra users: under Odoo's new terms, employee records with no login can count as billable Light Users.

6. Upgrades: Odoo can charge a 25% fee if your database is older than the three latest versions.

7. Internal time: your staff will test, train and clean data.

8. Renewals: first-year discounts expire. Model years two to five, not just year one.

Budget surprises are common. Before any renewal, archive former staff in Odoo and check who truly needs a full login. It is the fastest way to cut your Odoo total cost of ownership without losing a single feature.

Industry insight:
In the 2026 ERP Report by Panorama Consulting Group, more than a quarter of organisations said their project ran over budget. The same report found a median project timeline of 9 months.

Which ERP Fits Your Business?

There is no single winner. The right choice depends on your size, structure and budget. Choose Odoo Software if you are a small or mid-sized wholesaler, distributor or manufacturer. You want sales, inventory, purchasing, manufacturing and accounts in one system, at a price you can see upfront. This is where Odoo vs NetSuite for small businesses usually tips towards Odoo.

Choose NetSuite if you run several legal entities across countries and need deep consolidation. Be ready for a quote-led process and a larger budget. Choose MYOB Acumatica if you are a mid-market business already in the MYOB world. One MYOB partner says its typical customers have 40 to 300 staff and A$10 million to A$200 million in turnover.

Envertis Tip:
Run the same three real orders through every demo. Include a backorder, a price exception and a return. Whichever system handles all three cleanly, with the fewest workarounds, deserves a place on your shortlist.

Envertis and Odoo: Lower Costs, Fewer Leaks, Faster Business Growth

The cheapest licence doesn't always mean the lowest cost. Real savings come from closing the gaps between sales, stock, and accounts. Those gaps are where wholesalers lose margin: missed backorders, wrong prices and stock you cannot find. The good news is that these revenue "leaks" can be easily prevented. A well-implemented ERP system manages every order, item, and dollar in one place.

Odoo cost comparison gives Australian wholesalers clear pricing, one fee for every app, and room to grow. NetSuite and MYOB Acumatica are strong too, but they cost more to run and are harder to price upfront. Envertis has helped Australian businesses since 2006 and has delivered more than 80 Odoo implementations. Bring your current setup. We will map where money slips through and what it would cost to fix.
